Charles Vickers
Charles brings to his consultancy and training assignments not only his professional qualifications and experience as a consultant and trainer but also his wide national and international experience working in finance and also in a number of other functions including marketing, logistics and production. Charles has a deep interest in people and organisations and is committed to their success. Charles’ background and experience in business strategy formulation and implementation, organisational design, process improvement and risk and quality management means that he can quickly understand client needs and their issues, help develop and implement solutions and communicate these in a straightforward manner.
Charles originally trained with the Ministry of Defence on a five-year student apprenticeship gaining an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from the Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the process. Following this he gained a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago working in a finance position for the State of Illinois civil service at one point. After nearly two years working in finance at Pfizer Inc in New York City Charles went to Paris for a year to study French at the Alliance française after which he returned to the UK for a position in finance with Rank Xerox before moving to SmithKline where he held positions in marketing and logistics in its UK Animal Heath company and was finance director for 11 years. Following this he started his own business in management consultancy and training. Charles is currently a member of the Institute of Business Consulting and a Certified Management Consultant.
